Happy New Year!!

My second New Years Eve in Sydney Australia and I still have not done the big Sydney harbour bridge firework show! It is a shame, but we still had a good time hanging out with friends and whatnot (I would say bringing in the new year, but sadly I am totally lame and was asleep before midnight oops! Does this mean I have a year of bad luck coming my way?)

This year the plan was to spend the day at Coogee beach where at 9:30pm they had their own fireworks show.  Coogee has a couple of huts where if you are lucky enough to get one, you can put all of your stuff and have guaranteed shade.  Adsy was convinced that people were going to get up early to claim them all so he decided to get up at 5:30am to go over and claim two for all of us!  Well he did get two huts, but unfortunately for him he didn't have to fight anyone for them.  In fact no one else showed up to claim huts until about 9am.  At least we got our huts even if Adsy did have to get there super early. I, however, did not show up to the huts until about 1:30-2pm.

When all of the girls (all four of us) were there we decided it was time to hit the bar across the street.  Oceans bar is a cocktail bar that boasts many delicious alcoholic concoctions for not a very cheap price.  Each drink is in the range of $16-$20.  Amazingly expensive, but also very yummy.  So we went and had a few without the boys.

The firework show started at 9:30pm and was actually really good.  At one point we felt like the people in charge of the fireworks didn't account for the wind because they were exploding pretty close to us.  It was awesome.

Sadly after the show Adam and I were so both exhausted; me from jet lag, he from getting up so early, that we decided not to go back to the bar with everyone.  Instead we went home and went to sleep. Oh well! Maybe next year we'll do the harbour new years eve thing.

Happy New Year everyone!!
