What a WICKED night!!
In a few days Adsy and I will celebrate our one year anniversary together. I cannot believe it; this year has gone by super fast. To mark our anniversary, Adam tried to surprise me with tickets to Wicked. I say try because he was being sneaky buying them while I was in the shower, but I walked in on him mid purchase. Even though I’ve known about the tickets for a little while now, I was still super excited about them.
Last night was probably the best date night ever. The tickets Adam purchased also included dinner at a restaurant not far from the theatre. The restaurant had a preset dinner menu with a complimentary glass of wine (we both had two glasses each…). I also had a delicious almond and orange cake for dessert which I am now craving.
When we walked back to the theatre there were people everywhere. I was surprised how many people had come out for a Wednesday night performance. Now that I have seen the show, I am no longer surprised at the amount of people there. The show was absolutely amazing. I’m always so impressed and so jealous of people who are talented enough to go on stage and perform they way they do.
The best part of the night for me was when intermission came around and Adsy thought the play was over and got up ready to leave. I had to tell him it was only intermission and he did not believe me. It was not until he saw people were still seated or making their way back from the bar that he realized it was intermission. The theatre did not give us Playbills which I thought was weird and also made it hard to tell where we were in the play.
I was a little afraid that Adam would be totally bored and hate the play, but in fact he liked it. Or at least that is what he told me. If you haven’t figured it out already, I loved it. I hope this means that we will be going to more plays when they come.
Thanks babe for a great anniversary present! I look forward to many more!!
P.S. Adam bought me a koozie (or what Aussies call a stubby holder) to remember the night. Nothing says theatre like a koozie to hold your beer!!
